Week 86: 9 New Investigators

Hello everyone!  We've had a great week in the trio.  Because we are now covering 2 areas we have been a little overloaded with things to do but things are going great.  We were able to find a total of 9 new investigators between the two areas which was exciting.  Overall things are going very well.

Last Monday, we were able to start teaching this new family from Nigeria.  The mother's name is Patricia and her two sons are Donald and Godswill (the coolest name ever).  We tracted into them and they were very open to learning more.  We were not able to meet with the husband or the oldest son.  But when we go back this week, we hope to catch them all together so we can teach the whole family.

On Tuesday, we were able to have another great lesson with Michelle.  She is loving the Book of Mormon and is excited for her baptism.  She was not able to attend church this week because she went to visit her dad in Connecticut, but she has been doing a lot of reading in the Book of Mormon.  This week we are going to teach her the Plan of Salvation and hopefully start the commandments.

Leonid and Qian, two of our investigators who were both progressing a little slower made some huge progress this week!  Leonid is our Ukrainian investigator and because of the language barrier we have had some trouble teaching him.  We resolved to use object lessons and as we have he has understood so much better.  He came to church this week and received some great fellowship.  If all goes well, he will be baptized next month.  Qian is a non-member and her husband is a recent convert.  She has a lot of doubts about our church being the only true church.  This week we were able to teach her the Plan of Salvation and even though parts were confusing for her we could tell that she is finally being open minded to what we are teaching and giving it a shot.  She came to church as well and for one of the first times ever stayed for 3rd hour!  Before she would just leave because she didn't like Relief Society but now she has some great fellowship and is staying!  As well during Gospel Principles class, I had a great conversation with her about the Holy Ghost.  We talked about times where she had felt it in her life and helped her identify how the Spirit speaks to her.  She was excited about what she was learning and now that she understands the Spirit greater we hope she will recognize her answer sooner.  When she receives her answer, she will be a great convert.

Time just keeps flying by.  This Friday we will receive transfer texts and find out whether or not Elder Pulu and I will be staying together another transfer.  We are not too sure what will happen, we will see on Friday!  Also some exciting news, Emma, one of the investigators Elder Warner and I taught in Bridgeport was baptized on Saturday, February 17th.  Hopefully we will see a baptism here in the coming weeks too.  Love you all and thank you so much for the love and support.

I know that this work is the work of God.  I am humbled that I get to be a part of this great and marvelous work each day.  The spirit has really been able to guide and lighten the way for me this past week.  I am so grateful for the times that the Spirit has taught me and engraven truth into my soul.  I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves us all.
